St. Barths Villa

Gouverneur Beach

Saint Barthelemy

A private villa nestled into the cliffside above Gouverneur Beach offers a journey into color and pattern — a deeply personal departure from the expected, generous in its openness. The organic forms of the lush surrounding flora lend modernist contours a jolt of Caribbean flavor: a 700-piece ceramic mural constellating the ceiling; a daybed that unfurls like the vast cove below, and recalls its crystalline color; bands of confetti terrazzo stone turn the concrete flooring into a joyful dance.

Natural materials pull from the landscape: tile tables, woven chairs, a built-in basin of Italian ceppo stone. The kidney bean-shaped pool, realized in collaboration with landscape architect Raymond Jungles, invites repose, a moment of solitude before the next one: an outdoor soaking tub of carved onyx cusped by latticed wood, an extension of one of the Studio’s house forms.
